Cited Scan Privacy Policy

Cited Scan processes limited information from the page you choose to audit, including:

• The active page URL and domain.
• Page metadata such as title, meta description, canonical URL, robots meta tags, headings, schema, and visible content structure.
• Public domain-level files such as robots.txt, llms.txt, and sitemap references.
• Audit results generated locally, including AI visibility scores, citation readiness checks, and recommendations.

Chrome Web Store categories this may fall under include:

• Website content.
• Web history, limited to the currently active page being audited.

Cited Scan uses this information only to provide its single purpose: auditing the currently active page for AI visibility and citation readiness.

The extension uses the information to:

• Check crawler access.
• Analyze robots.txt.
• Analyze llms.txt.
• Detect sitemap references.
• Review metadata, schema, headings, and indexability signals.
• Generate AI Visibility and Citation Readiness scores.
• Provide copy-ready recommendations.
• Generate a local GEO report.

Cited Scan is local-first.

Audits run in your browser. Cited Scan does not use external AI APIs and does not send audited page content, domains, URLs, robots.txt, llms.txt, or generated audit reports to The Cited Club or third-party services.

Cited Scan may store the latest audit report locally in your browser using Chrome storage so you can open the full GEO report after running an audit.

This locally stored report may include the audited URL and audit results. It is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to The Cited Club by default.

Analytics are disabled by default in the current version of Cited Scan.

If optional analytics are enabled in a future version, they will be limited to privacy-safe usage metadata such as event name, extension version, anonymous install ID, timestamp, score band, active section, recommendation count, and interaction type.

Analytics will not include audited URLs, domains, page text, robots.txt, llms.txt, file contents, or raw page content.

Cited Scan does not collect:

• Personally identifiable information.
• Health information.
• Financial or payment information.
• Authentication information.
• Personal communications.
• Precise location.
• Full browsing history.
• Keystrokes, mouse movement, or unrelated user activity.

Cited Scan does not sell user data.

Cited Scan does not transfer audited page content, URLs, domains, robots.txt, llms.txt, or report contents to third parties.

Cited Scan does not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to its single purpose.

Cited Scan does not use user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

Cited Scan does not use remote code. All JavaScript and extension assets are included in the extension package. The extension does not load external scripts, remote modules, WebAssembly, or eval-based code.
