A Salesforce consultancy visibility audit can show how the firm was represented in a defined answer set and identify what needs further investigation. It cannot establish lost leads or prove that publishing a page will change recommendations. Inspect question intent, provider types, sources and counting rules before acting.

This review uses a saved report for an New York–based consultancy, dated 5 September 2026 and labelled ChatGPT, India. Each question was asked once; original prompt and answer records were unavailable. Its category, buying and overall answer sets have different denominators.

The supported next step is to verify capabilities, map them to project-buyer questions and retain a better answer record. This is diagnosis, not a completed acquisition improvement.

## Establish the conditions before reading the score

The report is dated 5 September 2026 and labeled ChatGPT, India. Its method note says each question was asked once, without brand history. The original prompt, answer and tool records were unavailable for our review.

The New York description identifies the business context in the supplied report. It does not change where the report collected responses. A US-market test would be a new test with its own conditions.

The available evidence is therefore the report artifact and its disclosed method. We can describe what it displays, but we cannot independently reproduce each count from the underlying answers.

## Read each denominator on its own terms

The category section says the business was absent from five questions. A broader section reports zero recommendations in nine buying answers. Another source section refers to ten overall answers, including a branded pros-and-cons response.

Those numbers refer to different sets. The branded response describes the business, so “the company never appears in any answer” would be an inaccurate summary of the report.

A useful report should explain which answers belong to each set and why. When that mapping is unavailable, keep the denominators separate and do not calculate a blended visibility percentage.

## Two facts in the report need separate labels

- Business location: The example is a New York–based consultancy.
- Collection conditions: The historical report was labeled ChatGPT, India; each question was asked once.

The business location is not the test market. These observations do not establish New York buyer demand or a completed TCC intervention.

## Check whether the first recommendations are comparable

Several category answers put software platforms first. That matters because the business sells consulting services. A platform and a consultancy can both be relevant to a CRM decision without being interchangeable suppliers.

The question may have been broad, the answer may have interpreted it differently, or the provider classification may need review. The report labels alone cannot establish which explanation is correct.

| Report finding | Interpretation that is supported | Interpretation that is not established |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Missing from category answers | Absence is displayed for this reported set | The firm is absent from all buyer discovery |
| Platforms appear first | Comparable provider intent needs inspection | The consultancy loses every relevant shortlist |
| Owned pages absent from category source sets | A source-level investigation is warranted | A particular missing page caused the absence |
| Branded response describes the firm | The report includes some business representation | The description is accurate in every detail |

The owner can use these distinctions to choose the next investigation without dismissing the report or exaggerating its result.

## Treat source presence as evidence to inspect

The report describes which sites fed answers and which owned pages appeared. It also uses language suggesting that changing those pages changes the answers. That causal conclusion is not established by the artifact.

Inspect the actual claim and source relationship where records are available. A source can explain migration generally without supporting a recommendation of a particular firm. A directory description can be outdated or incomplete.

When source records are missing, do not fill the gap with a ranking theory. Record what needs to be retained in the next collection: exact question, response, link, associated claim and collection conditions.

### The report contains three different answer sets

- **5 category questions:** The report displays the business as absent.
- **9 buying answers:** The report records zero recommendations.
- **10 overall answers:** Includes a branded response describing the business.

Report dated 5 September 2026; labelled ChatGPT, India; each question asked once. Underlying answer records were unavailable. These sets must not be pooled into one percentage.

## Use the report to prepare a project-fit review

The first recommended output is a capability inventory. Ask the delivery owner which Salesforce services, clouds, integration types and markets the firm can substantiate. Attach the relevant project evidence and exclusions.

Then map those capabilities to genuine project-buyer questions. Constructed prompts can supplement the set, but label them. Do not seed the company's name into every test if the task is unbranded supplier discovery.

A useful question concerns an actual decision with enough context for a responsible answer. An unsupported combination of flattering constraints can make the firm easier to recommend while making the test less useful.

## Prepare one service brief before a library

Choose a page whose buyer task is clear. Record the audience, project trigger, scope, proof, required client inputs and next step. Confirm the facts with a specialist.

A current page review can establish what is available today. It cannot establish the website's September state without a retained historical version. Do not call a proposed brief a before-and-after improvement.

The [service-page guide](/guides/salesforce-consultancy-service-pages) explains how to decide whether that task deserves a separate page. The [shared audit checklist](/guides/ai-visibility-audit-checklist) supplies the observation worksheet.

## Collect a better record if the question matters commercially

A later collection should keep the exact prompts, eligible provider definition, target market, product and app/API route. Retain repeated responses across dates and preserve failures.

Report factual accuracy, mentions, recommendations and citations separately. State the numerator and denominator beside any rate. A repeated test can show whether an observation recurs; it still does not measure private question frequency.

Track project enquiries in a separate commercial record. A missing answer mention cannot establish a lost lead, and a later mention cannot establish a won project.

## What the owner can decide now

The report supports a narrow next step: inspect question intent and connect verified capabilities to buyer-facing evidence. It does not justify a guaranteed citation promise, a forecast of leads or a declaration that five new pages will solve the problem.

That is still useful. A diagnostic should help you spend effort more carefully, even when its first finding is that the test needs refinement.

## Frequently asked questions

### What can a Salesforce visibility audit establish?

It can describe how the firm appeared in a defined answer set and identify evidence to investigate. It cannot establish lost leads or explain a hidden ranking formula.

### Does the consultancy’s location define the test market?

No. Record the business location and collection conditions separately. The saved New York consultancy report was labelled ChatGPT, India.

### Can different answer sets share one visibility percentage?

Only combine them when the membership and counting rules support it. Keep category, buying and overall answer sets separate when their denominators differ.
