# Cited Scan Privacy Policy

> Cited Scan is a local-first Chrome extension for auditing the active page's AI visibility and citation readiness. Effective May 19, 2026.

Cited Scan processes the active page URL, public metadata, headings, schema, visible content structure, robots.txt, llms.txt, sitemap references, and locally generated audit results.

Audits run in the browser. Cited Scan does not send audited content, domains, URLs, machine-readable files, or reports to The Cited Club or third-party AI services. The latest report may be stored locally through Chrome storage.

Analytics are disabled by default. If privacy-safe analytics are added later, they will not contain audited URLs, domains, page text, machine-readable file contents, or raw page content.

Cited Scan does not sell user data, use remote code, collect full browsing history, capture keystrokes, or collect personally identifiable, health, payment, authentication, communication, or precise-location data.
